29 CFR 1926.416(a)(1): No employer shall permit an employee to work in such proximity to any part of an electric power circuit that the employee could contact the electric power circuit in the course of work, unless the employee is protected against electric shock by deenergizing the circuit and grounding it or by guarding it effectively by insulation or other means. a. On or about October 25, 2019, employees were working from an aluminum pump jack scaffold that had one of its pole legs that was approximately two feet from a live electrical power circuit from the service drop to the residential building. The employer did not deenergize and ground the circuit or guard it with effective means of insulation, thereby exposing the employees to an electrical shock of 240 vac.
