29 CFR 1926.651(k)(1): Daily inspections of excavations, the adjacent areas, and protective systems were not made by a competent person for evidence of a situation that could have resulted in possible cave-ins, indications of failure of protective systems(a). At a trench located at 5900 Cromwell Marine Creek Rd., Fort Worth, Texas; the employer did not ensure daily inspections of the excavation, and the adjacent areas was not conducted by a competent person to inspect the 5-foot 5-inch deep x 4.5-feet wide x 12-feet long trench. The employee was exposed to engulfment hazards.
