29 CFR 1926.102(a)(1): The employer did not ensure that each affected employee used appropriate eye or face protection when exposed to eye or face hazards from flying particles, molten metal, liquid chemicals, acids or caustic liquids, chemical gases or vapors, or potentially injurious light radiation. On or about 17 September 2019, and at times prior thereto, two roofers were using pneumatic nail guns to apply new shingles to the roof of a residence under construction without the use of eye protection, exposing the roofers to the hazard of being struck by flying debris or projectiles. Onecimo Rivera dba Rivera Roofing Improvement was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.102(a)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1411718, citation number 01, item number 002 and was affirmed as a final order on 08/15/2019, with respect to a workplace located at 2228 Rabbit Creek Drive, Georgetown, TX 78626.
