Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 002 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.335(a)(1)(i): Employees working in areas where there were potential electrical hazards were not using electrical protective equipment that was appropriate for the specific parts of the body to be protected and for the work to be performed: On or about September 10, 2019, an employee performing Thermal Imaging on energized General Electric Spectra Series 600 volt switch gear did not wear the electrical protective equipment appropriate for the level of exposure, exposing the employee to the hazards associated with an Arc/ Flash. including: 1) Hand protection: Leather gloves. 2) Head and face protection: Arc-rated face shield, arc-rated flash suit hood and/or balaclava. 3) Hearing protection: Hearing protectors (canal inserts). 4) Body protection: 8 cal/cm2 arc rated long sleeve shirt. Abatement documentation is required of this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d).
