Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 002 Hazard:
29 CFR 1926.416(a)(1): Employees were permitted to work in proximity to electric power circuits and were not protected against electric shock by de-energizing and grounding the circuits or effectively guarding the circuits by insulation or other means: The employer is failing to protect employees from electrical shock and electrocution hazards when upgrading lighting fixtures throughout the facility. This was most recently documented on August 9, 2019 at the jobsite located at 1607 Anaconda Road, Harrisonville, Missouri. An employee working on a 110-volt energized circuit, which had not been rendered inoperative or guarded by insulation or other means, was shocked resulting in fatal injuries.
