29 CFR 1910.138(a): The employer did not select and require employee(s) to use appropriate hand protection when employees' hands were exposed to hazards such as those from skin absorption of harmful substances; severe cuts or lacerations; severe abrasion; punctures; chemical burns; thermal burns; and harmful temperature extremes: On or about 4/22/2019 at 4145 Mead Road, Macon, GA: Employees are exposed to hand injuries/hazard where: a) They fill the low or empty battery cells filled with water exposing them to the corrosive Sulfuric Acid chemical. b) They fill change out the propane tanks on the powered industrial trucks exposing them to burns similar to frostbite from the hazardous chemical.
