Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 002 Hazard:
29 CFR 1926.503(a)(1): The employer did not provide a training program for each employee potentially exposed to fall hazards to enable each employee to recognize the hazards of falling and the procedures to be followed in order to minimize these hazards: The employer is failing to train employees to recognize fall hazards associated with residential roofing activities. This was most recently documented at 6301 Rainwood Rd, Omaha, Nebraska, on April 12, 2019 when workers were installing roofing material to a residential structure with an eave height over 8' above the ground and they had not been trained to recognize the hazards associated with working from an elevated surface. A fatality occurred at this jobsite as a result of a fall from height. The deceased employee was not using fall protection and had not received fall protection training.
