29 CFR 1910.176(b): Material stored in tiers was not stacked, blocked, interlocked or limited in height so that it was stable and secure against sliding and collapse: Establishment: On or about April 8, 2019, in the following areas, cartons/boxes of merchandise that were stacked and tiered above head height were not stacked securely to prevent sliding or falling of objects exposing employees to overhead and struck-by hazards: (a) Stored in the two (2) bathrooms available at this location were cartons/boxes of merchandise such as Halloween and other seasonal decorations stacked above head height in spaces between the toilet and sink and in front of the toilet. (b) Store Room had cartons/boxes of merchandise that were stacked above head height along the aisles that led to areas such as the walk-in cooler, freezer, compressed cylinders that contained helium. Dollar Tree Stores, Inc. was previously cited for a repeat violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1910.176(b), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1269761, citation number 1, item number 2a issued on June 14, 2018, and was affirmed as a final order on September 7, 2018, with respect to a workplace located at 1155 S. Havana Street, Unit 23, Aurora, CO 80012.
