29 CFR 1910.133(a)(2): The employer did not ensure that each affected employee uses eye protection when exposed to eye hazards related to handling liquid chemicals. The employer is failing to protect employees from eye injury hazards associated with handing corrosive chemicals used in the industrial sized washing machine. Specifically, the employer is failing to ensure that employees are utilizing eye protection when exposed to eye hazards from corrosive liquid chemicals when replacing laundry detergent barrels. This was most recently documented on or about December 11, 2018 in the laundry room at CSL Woodbridge, LLC located at 1913 East Highway 34 in Plattsmouth, Nebraska. The employees replace barrels of Clothesline Fresh Bld detergent used in the washing machine; Clothesline Fresh Bld detergent is a Category 1 skin corrosive, eye irritant, and metal corrosive.
