29 CFR 1910.147(c)(1): The employer did not establish a program consisting of energy control procedures, employee training and periodic inspections to ensure that before any employee performs any servicing or maintenance on a machine or equipment where the unexpected energizing, startup or release of stored energy could occur and cause injury, the machine or equipment shall be isolated from the energy source and rendered inoperative. a) On or about October 19, 2018, or prior thereto: The employer did not develop energy control procedures for servicing and maintenance on The Onion Bin Tipping Machine. The machine is energized by hydraulics and 220 V electrical power. b) On or about October 19, 2018, or prior thereto: The employer did not develop an employee training program to address energy control for servicing and maintenance on The Onion Bin Tipping Machine, and other equipment in the facility. NOTE: Abatement certification and documentation is required for this item.
