29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: (a) Door Shop: On October 4, 2018 and times prior to, the employer did not provide machine guarding for a Rigid drill press (serial #AM054846662) to protect employees from the rotating chuck and unused portion of the bit. (b) Door Shop: On October 4, 2018 and times prior to, the employer did not provide machine guarding for a Dayton 17 inch drill press (model #3Z918F) to protect employees from the rotating chuck and unused portion of the bit.
