29 CFR 1926.651(i)(2): Excavation below the level of the base or footing of any foundation or retaining wall that could be reasonably expected to pose a hazard to the employees was not prohibited, where the none of the requirements of (i)(2)(i), (i)(2)(ii), (i)(2)(iii), (i)(2)(iv) were met. Location: a) Inside the excavation by the foundation wall on the west side of the jobsite: On or about 09/12/2018, The employer excavated below the footing and did not adequately underpin and brace. Employees were not prohibited from working next to the excavation wall.
