29 CFR 1926.651(b)(1): The estimated location of utility installations, such as sewer, telephone, fuel, electric, water lines, or any other underground installations that reasonably may be expected to be encountered during excavation work, was not determined prior to opening an excavation. (a) On or about September 6, 2018, and at times prior thereto, the employer did not contact dig line to have underground utility lines located before digging an approximate 7-8 foot deep trench near natural gas lines. Note: Abatement certification is required for this item.
