Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 002 Hazard:
29 CFR 1926.21(b)(2): The employer shall instruct each employee in the recognition and avoidance of unsafe conditions and the regulations applicable to his work environment to control or eliminate any hazards or other exposure to illness or injury. (a) On July 31, 2018, located throughout a pipe and precast concrete plant, employees were performing interior demolition work at the unprotected edge of a wall opening that had not been instructed on the applicable procedures and/or regulations to minimize those hazards while performing this work. Employees were exposed to fall hazards greater than 31 feet above the ground below. (b) On or about the 32-day period of June 14 - July 30, 2018, located throughout a pipe and precast concrete plant, employees were performing demolition work throughout the jobsite that had not been instructed on the applicable procedures and/or regulations to minimize those hazards while performing this work. Employees were exposed to fall hazards greater than 24 feet above the ground below.
