29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: Employees engaged in machining activities at the following pieces of equipment throughout the facility were exposed to struck-by and amputation hazards in that machine guarding was not provided and utilized: a) Building 2 - Door Assembly area, the Assy Pro Max Carlson Clamp machine was not guarded at the point of operation. b) Building 2 - Maintenance shop area, the unused portion of the blades (3.5 inches long) on the Jet Horizontal Band-Saw was not guarded. 29 CFR 1903.19(c)(2): Abatement of the above violation was verified at time of inspection, no certification is required.
