29 CFR 1910.1200(f)(6): The employer did use signs, placards, operating procedures, or other such written materials in lieu of labeling (Agriculture Reference: 1928.21(a)(5)): a. The employer failed to provide a method of labeling of the identity of the hazardous chemical and appropriate hazard warning. There was no hazardous warning sign or other method of labeling for chemical gas(es), such as ammonia, hydrogen sulfide, and methane, in the gilt development unit where exposure was known to exist. b. The employer failed to provide a method of labeling of the identity of the hazardous chemical and appropriate hazard warning. There was no hazardous warning sign or other method of labeling for potential exposure to flammable gas, such as methane, in the animal housing buildings where a flammable gas could be generated from the decomposition of animal waste. Abatement documentation is required for this violation.
