29 CFR 1910.305(g)(1)(iv)(A): Flexible cords and/or cables were used as a substitute for the fixed wiring of a structure. In the break room area, an extension cord that was run through the metal framing of the wall was used as permanent wiring to energize appliances such as but not limited to coffee pot, microwave and refrigerator exposing employees to electrical shock hazards. Dollar General was previously cited for a serious violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1910.305(g)(1)(iv)(A), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 985177, citation number 1, item number 1b and was affirmed as a final order on 07/30/2014, with respect to a final abatement date of 07/30/2014, with respect to a workplace located at 2297 Curryville Rd, Martinsburg, PA 16662. Pursuant to 29 C.F.R. 1903, within ten (10) calendar days of the abatement date, the employer must submit documentation showing that it is in compliance with the standard, including describing the steps that it is taking to ensure that all places of employment are free from temporary wiring used as permanent wiring.
