Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 002 Hazard:
OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to struck by hazards: The employer is failing to protect employees from struck-by hazards while engaging in hydraulic line replacement on the 1973 Ford F-600. This was most recently documented on or about October 24, 2017, at the jobsite located at 204 SE 70th Avenue Stafford, KS 67578. The employer did not ensure that employees were protected from struck-by hazards in that the employer did not develop and implement a method to control against the inadvertent lowering of the elevated truck bed when employees are positioned between the frame of the truck and the elevated bed. Among other methods, a feasible and acceptable method of abatement includes the installation of positive supports designed and engineered to lock into position in order to prevent the unintended lowering of the elevated truck bed.
