Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 002 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.145(c)(3): Safety instruction signs shall be used where there is a need for general instructions and suggestions relative to safety measures. a) U-Haul Co. of Pennsylvania - On or about October 6, 2017, and times prior to, a Machine Operator was loading steel sheets from the Whitney machine to an employer modified scissor lift table. The employer modified the lift table by attaching extensions to the table to accommodate longer sheets of steel, and by doing so obscured warning labels that were affixed from the original manufacturer that stated "Place load on center of table". Abatement certification and documentation required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, the date and method of abatement, and state that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement. Abatement documentation shall include documents demonstrating that abatement is complete, such as evidence of the purchase or repair of equipment, photograph or video evidence of abatement or other written records.
