29 CFR 1910.179(j)(4)(ii): Crane(s) which were idle for a period of over six months were not given a complete inspection conforming with 1910.179(j)(2), 1910.179(j)(3), and 1910.179(m)(2) before being placed into service: a) Truck Shop: A 2 ton overhead gantry crane that had not been used in over six months was not inspected prior to use according to the standard. The hook latch had been removed, on or about 8/11/17. NOTE: THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION FOR THIS ITEM. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.
