North Carolina General Statue 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees condition of employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: a)The employer failed to provide the fuel transfer and/or switching equipment for gas and fuel oil transfers as set fort in Chapter 8 of NFPA 8501. One feasible and acceptable abatement method, among others, to correct this hazard is to equip the #3 power boiler with the recommended interlocks, transfer and/or switching equipment, and provide training on the proper fuel transfer and/or switching procedures as set fort in Chapter 8 of NFPA 8501.
