29 CFR 1910.133(a)(3): The employer did not ensure that employees wearing prescription lenses while engaged in operations that involve eye hazards wears eye protection that incorporates the prescription in its design or wears eye protection that can be worn over the prescription lenses. Employees are exposed to struck-by eye hazards from small metal fragments getting into their eyes from loading brass, filling brass, and or sorting brass. Employees are required to wear safety glasses prior to entering onto the plant floor. Employees who wear prescription glasses are not required to wear safety glasses or side shields while on the plant floor in order to protect their eyes while engaged in operations that involve eye hazards.
