29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: The employer is failing to protect employees from amputation hazards. This was most recently documented on 05/31/17 at the establishment located at S. 4th Street in Osage City, Kansas. Employees engaged in maintenance activities using the horizontal band saw in the maintenance shop were exposed to amputation hazards in that approximately 4 inches of the unused portion of the blade was not guarded.
