29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: a) Front shop A Lehigh-20 lathe had no guard over the chuck to protect against contact with a rotating part while turning metal pieces. Violation occurred on or about 4/4/17. b) Front shop A Monarch lathe had no guard over the chuck to protect against contact with a rotating part while turning metal pieces. Violation occurred on or about 4/4/17. c) Front shop A Chicago mechanical brake press had no guard to prevent contact with the point of operation when bending metal.
