Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 002 Hazard:
1926.503(a)(1): "Training Program." The employer shall provide a training program for each employee who might be exposed to fall hazards. The program shall enable each employee to recognize the hazards of falling and shall train each employee in the procedures to be followed in order to minimize these hazards. The employer did not provide a training program for employees that were observed performing roofing work on a low-slope commercial roof structure while not utilizing any fall protection system and exposed to potential fall heights in excess of 10 feet. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET), and in addition, documentation demonstrating that abatement is complete must be included with your certification. This documentation may include, but is not limited to, evidence of the purchase or repair of the equipment, photographic or video evidence, or written records.
