29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. a) North side of excavation located at 3930 Atlanta Hwy., Montgomery, AL; On or about February 23, 2017 and at time prior thereto, the employer exposed employees to fall hazards of 12 feet to the ground below in that employees were permitted to stand at the edge of an excavation without the use of fall protection.
