29 CFR 1910.37(a)(3): Exit route(s) were not kept free and unobstructed: (a) Belt 344 - On February 1, 2017, the employer did not ensure that exit routes were kept free and unobstructed. BMC and APC carts were staged in the area reducing the exit access to 20 inches. In accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET), and in addition, documentation demonstrating that abatement is complete and must be included with your certification. This documentation may include, but is not limited to, evidence of the purchase, or repair of the equipment, photographic or video evidence of abatement, or other written records. U.S Postal Service was previously cited for a violation of this Occupational Safety and Health standard, 29 CFR 1910.37(a)(3) which was contained in OSHA Inspection Number 1186652, citation number 1, Item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on December 13, 2016 with respect to the workplace located at 28201 Franklin Pkwy, Santa Clarita, CA 91383.
