29 CFR 1910.132(e): Defective or damaged personal protective equipment shall not be used. The employer is failing to protect employees from fall hazards associated with using defective or damaged fall arrest system. The most recent occurrence of this was evident during the inspection of the facility located at 1700 E. Front St. Fremont, NE, where the employer has employees utilizing fall protection in which the retractable was exposed to conditions from being extended for long periods of time and experienced shock loading as the result of an employee falling from a railcar.
