29 CFR 1910.212(a)(3)(ii): Point(s) of operation of machinery were not guarded to prevent employee(s) from having any part of their body in the danger zone(s) during operating cycle(s): a) On or about January 31, 2017 the employer failed to ensure that effective guarding was in place at the point of operation on the Yoder weld mill. The mill did not contain any guarding to prevent employees from coming into contact with the rollers during operation. b) On or about January 31, 2017 the employer failed to ensure that effective guarding was in place on the Seco slitter. Guarding was not in place to prevent employees from coming into contact with the slitters themselves. c) On or about January 31, 2017 the employer failed to ensure that effective guarding was in place on the bar straightener. No guarding was present on the equipment to prevent employees from coming into contact with the straightening rollers on the front or entry side of the equipment. At the time of inspection the equipment was ran without the use of foot controls.
