29 CFR 1910.147(c)(7)(i): The employer did not provide training to ensure that the purpose and function of the energy control program are understood by employees and that the knowledge and skills required for the safe application, usage, and removal of the energy controls were acquired by employees. a. Haviland Plastic Products Inc. located in Haviland Ohio: On or about November 16, 2016, the employer did not ensure an employee had received training on the company lockout program as an authorized employee. The employee was exposed to hot surfaces from the die and sheet rollers, on machine #20 located in the production area, prior to working near the hot surfaces while removing the die.
