29 CFR 1910.26(c)(3)(vii): Portable ladders were used for other uses than that which they were intended. (a) Production - On or about August 17, 2016, the employer did not ensure that employees used the metal portable step ladder as it was intended to be used. When performing servicing, the step-ladder was placed on top of Press 62 and used to reach the switch located above the press. In accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET), and in addition, documentation demonstrating that abatement is complete and must be included with your certification. This documentation may include, but is not limited to, evidence of the purchase, or repair of the equipment, photographic or video evidence of abatement, or other written records.
