29 CFR 1910.151(b): In the absence of an infirmary, clinic, or hospital in near proximity to the workplace which is used for the treatment of all injured employees, a person or persons was not adequately trained to render first aid. Adequate first aid supplies shall be readily available. a) ASARCO Hayden Smelter, Converter Baghouse area: An employees hand was caught in moving parts while cleaning the rotary baghouse hopper. The employee suffered serious injuries to the hand did not receive prompt first aid from an adequately trained individual in the absence of an infirmary, clinic or hospital in near proximity to the workplace. b) ASARCO Hayden Smelter, Converter Baghouse area: An employees hand was caught in moving parts while cleaning the rotary baghouse hopper. Adequate first aid supplies were not available for the appropriate treatment of the injuries.
