29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: (a) Maintenance Shop: Maintenance employees were exposed to amputation hazards from an unguarded Shear. The shear was not guarded at the front at the point of operation, and was not guarded at the rear of the machine. (b) Mill Garage: An employee was exposed to amputation hazards as the Wilton Abrasive Finishing Machine did not have any guards for ingoing nippoints from the belt and pulleys.
