Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 002 Hazard:
29 CFR 1926.1052(c)(1)(ii): Stairways having four or more risers or rising more than 30 inches (76 cm), whichever is less, were not equipped with a stair rail system along each unprotected side or edge: a) Foyer - On or about March 17, 2016, the employer did not ensure that a stairway with 21 risers leading from the first floor to the second story inside the house was equipped with a standard stair railing on the open side, exposing employees to fall hazards of up to about 11 feet, 7 inches onto concrete ground. Builder Services Group, Inc. dba Quality Insulation was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.1052(c)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 906995, citation number 1, item number 3 and was affirmed as a final order on May 14, 2014, with respect to a workplace located at 61 Post Road, Hooksett, NH 03106.
