Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employmnent and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazard of being hit by oncoming traffic while standing in the lane used by moving traffic because of lack of training: (a)Tree Trimming Operation at Route 225 & Route 147 - The employer had not trained employees regarding the proper methods of flagging operations to reduce the risk of being struck by traffic. AMONG OTHER METHODS, ONE FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE ABATEMENT METHOD TO CORRECT THIS HAZARD WOULD BE TO TRAIN EMPLOYEE(S) ON THE PROPER METHODS OF FLAGGING OPERATIONS AND WHERE TO LOCATE FLAGMAN STATIONS IN ACCORDANCE WITH ANSI Z133.1-2000. VERIFICATION REQUIRED
