Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: a.The employer violated Section 5(a)(1) of the Act by failing to provide a workplace free from recognized hazards in that training for a new line did not cover operator use of the proper disconnect when confronted by multiple disconnects on a piece of equipment that had bee added to the line system after the date of the training.
