Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 002 Hazard:
OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: a) The employer does not ensure that the storage of materials does not create a hazard. This violation occurred on or about April 15, 2015 and times prior thereto, when the employer allowed 100s of printing press cylinders to rest on steel racks without plaques (displaying rated loads) in the Printing Press department area. The cylinders weigh between 200 to 400 lbs each and 100s of the cylinders were stored on the racks. b) The employer does not ensure that the storage of materials does not create a hazard. This violation occurred on or about April 15, 2015 and times prior thereto, when the employer allowed printing press cylinders to rest on footings with missing anchor bolts on a cylinder storage rack in the Printing Press department area. The cylinders weigh between 200 to 400 lbs each and 100s of the cylinders were stored on the racks.
