29 CFR 1926.652(a)(1): Each employee in an excavation shall be protected from cave-ins by an adequate protective system designed in accordance with paragraph (b) or (c) of this section: a) Near marker F.1 on the Little West 12th St side of the site: On or about April 6, 2015 Employees were installing formwork for the underpinning of a column in a 14 foot deep trench which did not have a protective system. Employees were working in the trench when a section of the wall collapsed and trapped an employee.
