Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: a) Forming department, conveyors C-1, C-3, F-1, and F-2, transfer workers, selectors, and gage attendants were exposed to hazards of ingoing nip points and were not trained in the operation of conveyors in emergency situations. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to train transfer workers, selectors, and gage attendants in the operation of conveyors in emergency situations using American National Standards Institute B20.1 as a guideline.
