29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(4): Ladders were used for purposes other than the purposes for which they were designed. The employer does not ensure that portable ladders are used for the purpose in which they are designed. This violation occurred on or about February 2, 2105, at the jobsite where an employee was exposed to a fall hazard when using a 5- foot A-frame step ladder to gain access to the scaffold for which it was not designed. Pursuant to 29 C.F.R. 1903.19, within one (10) calendar days of the abatement date, the employer must submit documentation showing that it is in compliance with the standard, including describing the steps that it is taking to ensure that all ladders used by employees are used for the purpose for which they were designed.
