Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 002 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.37(b)(4): If the direction of travel to the exit or exit discharge is not immediately apparent, signs must be posted along the exit access indicating the direction of travel to the nearest exit and exit discharge. Additionally, the line-of-sight to an exit sign must clearly be visible at all times. On or about 7 November 2014 the employer failed to ensure that all areas where employees are occupying space or work were properly labeled with exit signs: a)Located in the Dispatch staging belt sorting area, no exit signs or directional signs leading to an exit were placed and b) Located in SWYB areas, signs were not visible as equipment staged in area made it impossible to visually see area signs.
