Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 002 Hazard: CRUSHING
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act o employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: (a) Crushing injuries from falling plywood in that on August 3rd, 1992 an excessive concentration of 4 x 8 x 5/8 plywood sheeting was placed on both the North and south side(s) of the same second story roof trusses located at 1079 Uncochief Circle, Steamboat Springs, CO. 80488. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method of abatement to correct this hazard is: 1. To follow the Truss Plate Institute publication BWT76 Bracing Wood Trusses: "Commentary and Recommendations" that was provided to the employer during the delivery of trusses.
