29 CFR 1910.134(g)(1)(i)(B): Respirators with tight-fitting facepieces were worn by employees with a condition that interfered with the face-to-facepiece seal or valve function: f) Pinnacle Powder Coating, Inc. located at 61 Saint Marys Street in Norwalk, Ohio; On or about February 21, 2018 the employer did not prohibit employees, who were required to wear tight fitting elastomeric full face respirators, from wearing articles of clothing that interfered with the face to face-piece seal. Employees applying powder paint inside the Nordson powder coating booth were observed wearing bandanas or baseball caps that were worn between the forehead and respirator seal. Employees were exposed to hazards associated with exposures to particulates not otherwise regulated containing 1,3,5-Triglycidyl Isocyanurate while applying powder paint such as, but not limited to, irritation to the eyes, throat, skin, and upper respiratory system, hematologic effects, and male reproductive damage.
