29 CFR 1910.134(k)(1): The employer did not provide respirator training that would ensure each employee could demonstrate knowledge of items in section (i)-(vii): a) Throughout the facility, on or about 4/1/14 Training was not for employees that wear respirators including, but not limited to, welders wearing 3M half face air purifying respirators with P100 cartridges. Training must include, at a minimum: i) the effects of improper fit, usage, or maintenance in compromising respirator effectiveness. ii) respirator capability and limitations iii) respirator use in emergency situations. iv) respirator inspections, seal checking, removal and use v) respirator maintenance and storage procedures vi) medical signs and symptoms that may limit or prevent effective use of respirators vii) general requirements of the OSHA standard on respiratory protection Abatement certification must be submitted for this item.
