29 CFR 1910.134(k)(1): The employer did not provide effective training that covered the required elements in 1910.134(k)(1)(i) through 1910.134(k)(1)(vii): Hillcrest Commons Extended Care located at 169 Valentine Rd, Pittsfield, MA: On or about November 18, 2020, the employer did not provide employees with effective training on why the respirator was necessary and how improper fit, usage, or maintenance could compromise the protective effect of the respirator; limitations and capabilities of the respirator; and medical symptoms that could limit or prevent the effectiveness of the respirator. The employer required employees to wear N95 filtering facepiece respirators while providing care to suspected and confirmed positive COVID-19 residents.
