29 CFR 1910.22(b): The employer did not ensure that each walking-working surface can support the maximum intended load for that surface: The employer does not ensure each walking and working surface can support the maximum intended load for that surface as follows: a) This violation was observed on or about May 30, 2019, at the second floor of the maintenance building, a floor load rating was not determined where numerous shelves containing parts, two (2) metal cabinets for containers of paints, oils, and cleaners were being stored, and where two (2) offices for employee use were located. This exposes employees to fall and struck by hazards. b) This violation was observed on or about May 30, 2019, at the second floor of the warehouse, floor load rating was not determined where materials were stored and where a floor hole was present. This exposes employees to fall and struck by hazards. Pursuant to 29 CFR 1903.19, within ten (10) calendar days of the date of this citation, the employer must submit documentation describing the steps taken to ensure second level storage areas are properly load rated.
