29 CFR 1915.53(d)(1): When conducting hot work on surfaces covered with toxic preservative coatings, employees were not protected by air line respirators meeting the requirements of paragraph 1915.154. a) H Hansen Industries located on the Lewis J Kuber Barge docked at 600 Millard Avenue Oregon, OH, 43616, on or about March 24, 2017 the employer did not ensure that employees, conducting welding operations on surfaces covered with lead paint within the Lewis J Kuber Barge, were protected by airline respirators meeting the requirements of paragraph 1915.154. Overexposure to lead can cause anemia, weakness, and kidney and brain damage.
