29 CFR 1910.138(a): The employer did not select and require employee(s) to use appropriate hand protection when employees' hands were exposed to hazards such as those from skin absorption of harmful substances; severe cuts or lacerations; severe abrasion; punctures; chemical burns; thermal burns; and harmful temperature extremes: On or about 1/5/15, employees servicing injection molding machine MM-027 were exposed to the ejection of molten plastic used to make cable ties, and the employer did not require employees to use appropriate hand protection when employees' hands were exposed to thermal burns. Specific abatement documentation that this violation has been corrected must be provided within 10 days of the abatement in accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d)(1).
