29 CFR 1910.303(g)(1)(ii): Working space required by this standard may not be used for storage. When normally enclosed live parts are exposed for inspection or servicing, the working space, if in a passageway or general open space, shall be suitably guarded. The employer does not protect employees from fire and/or electrical hazards by ensuring that working space around electrical panels is kept clear and is not used for storage. a) This most recently occurred on or about November 16, 2022, in the receiving room of Dollar General Store No. 6509, located at 991 Marquette Street in Kewaunee, Wisconsin; The employer does not ensure employees are protected from potential injuries from fire and electrical hazards when obstructing the access to electrical panels with wheeled carts loaded with merchandise and plastic bins.
