Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001D Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.147(e)(3):Lockout or tagout devices removal. Each lockout or tagout device shall be removed from each energy isolating device by the employee who applied the device. a) On or about 4/4/2022 the employer did not ensure safe release from lockout by establishing procedures and following actions to have each authorized employee who applied lockout devices to energy isolating devices be the same person to remove them. The employer designated 2nd shift maintenance employees to lockout for 3rd shift sanitation on machines such as but not limited to; Cameron Seamers (Model #s 216 & 226), and had others re-energize equipment for positioning or production by removing those lockout devices.
